# One Generator, Many Domains

## Definition

A **generator** is the framework's small, typed relational core — the directions, bindings, couplings, and returns that [[hypercompression|hypercompression]] retains and that [[ultimental-kernel|the ultimental kernel]] states as a rebuild specification rather than a summary. A **domain application** is not a fresh doctrine bolted onto that core. It is an *instantiation* of the same typed relations under a different carrier's constraints. **One generator, many domains** names the claim that the framework's apparent breadth is the reuse of a single generative structure across carriers — and, more sharply, that whether a given domain counts as such a reuse is settled by preserved *type*, never by verbal resemblance.

The page therefore refuses to fix scope by exhibit. It does not establish reach through an exemplar list, a ranking of carriers from richer to poorer, or a privileged comparison pair. A carrier is admitted or declined by a criterial test, run against that carrier's own constraints:

```text
one generator G instantiated in a domain D  ⇔  under D's carrier constraints, all six hold:
  ① structured significance is selectable or routable
  ② directional operations can be identified
  ③ at least one regulated error can be specified
  ④ action leaves a consequence in a field or future state
  ⑤ consequence can return to alter later processing
  ⑥ continuity or failure can be tracked
fewer than six hold  ⇒  analogy or partial mapping, NOT full instantiation
```

Read the six as the generator's *signature*, mapped to the machinery they instantiate: selection and routing ([[meaning-maker|admission and exclusion]], [[splcw|the Warden and Captive]]); directional operations ([[directional-primitives|the primitives]]); regulated error ([[regulated-error-signal|the error signal]] a [[predicate-binding|binding]] reduces); consequence deposited in a field ([[matter-meaning-cycle|the Sculptor's changed world]]); return of that consequence as altered later processing ([[matter-meaning-cycle|the return through a changed world]]); and trackable continuity or failure ([[continuable-structure|continuable structure]] across the cycle). Crucially, an instantiation must preserve the *couplings*, not merely list the parts: a domain that exhibits the directions and the errors but wires no controller from them has the vocabulary of the generator without its dynamics, and is a partial mapping. The count of six is itself a contestable carving (CV) — a shorter dependency-complete signature, or a missing indispensable criterion, would revise it.

## Type and formal status

> **One Generator, Many Domains. E:** Derived, CV. The transfer relation follows from the framework's own typing, but the admission signature is a *carving* — contestable by a domain that satisfies all six criteria yet is not a genuine instance, or by a genuine instance that the six criteria wrongly exclude. **A:** the aspiration is that the test accurately sorts typed instantiation from shared vocabulary; an over-inclusive test that annexes every field, or an under-inclusive one that denies real reuse, is a mapping *inaccuracy*, not merely a disallowed move.

This is a **treatise-side extension, held contestable**. It carries no canonical authority, closes nothing, and is exposed to the same marks and revision pathways as any other content-bearing claim. It is not a founded, forced, or exempt tier.

## What it regulates

It regulates the framework's characteristic excess in the direction of *scope*: the temptation, once a compact generator is in hand, to see it everywhere. Its named target is **transfer-by-verbal-analogy** — the move that treats a shared word ("selection," "error," "return") as evidence that a domain instantiates the generator. Against this, the page installs a typed gate. A resemblance that cannot exhibit a regulated error, or cannot show consequence returning to alter later processing, is downgraded to analogy or partial mapping and denied the status of instantiation. In this it is the scope-facing complement to [[hypercompression|hypercompression]]: hypercompression bounds the *size* of the generator; this page bounds *what may be counted as its reuse*.

## What regulates it

It is regulated from three directions. [[same-level-attack-rule|The same-level attack rule]] forces every admission and every rejection to be argued at the type and abstraction level of the criteria, so a domain cannot be admitted by surface expression or rejected by substrate alone. [[identity-across-substrates|Identity across substrates]] supplies the type/substrate/capacity distinctions that keep instantiation from demanding identical carriers: substrate difference does not by itself defeat type identity, and functional identity does not erase capacity difference. [[description-length-and-explanatory-surface|Description length and explanatory surface]] audits whether a claimed domain's coverage is actually *recovered from the generator* rather than smuggled in as a domain-specific premise; a "reuse" that needs unstated local axioms is coverage by accretion, not by instantiation.

## Valid attack surface

The load-bearing attack is a **misclassified same-instantiation**: two domains are declared instances of one generator while differing in a structurally relevant way the framework cannot represent. Such an attack must exhibit the difference *at the level of the typed relations* — a divergence in how error is regulated, how consequence returns, or how continuity is tracked — and show that the six-criterion signature is blind to it. That is a legitimate demand for a finer type, and it lands on the seam: the coarseness of the signature. A weaker attack — "these carriers are made of different stuff," "one is faster," "one is older" — targets substrate or capacity and is answered by [[identity-across-substrates|identity across substrates]] without touching the claim. The other admissible attack shows a genuine instance that all six criteria *reject*, exposing the signature as under-inclusive.

## What happens if isolated

Isolation fails in two opposite, diagnosable ways, mirroring the split in [[hypercompression|hypercompression]].

- **Generator asserted without the typed admission test** collapses into promiscuous analogy. Everything that moves, corrects, or persists is declared an instance; breadth becomes universality by fiat; the framework annexes rather than instantiates. This is the totalizing over-reach the whole page exists to gate — closure of scope with no marking of what is excluded.
- **The typed criteria asserted without a generator** become an unarchitected inventory. Six independent checklists, satisfied here and there, name no shared source and license no transfer; there is admission without anything being admitted *into*. This is decompression without compression — parts with no architecture behind them.

Neither half alone yields transfer. Only the pair does.

## What larger property emerges from the coupling

Coupled to [[hypercompression|hypercompression]] and [[ultimental-kernel|the kernel]], this page yields **non-accretive breadth**: the framework's reach across domains is *reuse of one generative structure*, testable and defeasible, rather than a loose aggregation of independent doctrines that happen to share slogans. Transfer becomes something that can be *earned and revoked* — a domain is in only while it exhibits the signature, and drops to analogy the moment a criterion fails. Breadth thereby stops being a rhetorical asset and becomes a compression claim with an admission gate, answerable at the same level on which it was made. That is the property no isolated half provides: a wide surface that remains a *single, correctable* architecture rather than an ever-growing pile.

## What would actually kill the claim

The claim dies if **domain transfer turns out to depend only on verbal resemblance and not on preserved typed relations** — if it can be shown that the six-criterion signature does no discriminating work, admitting and rejecting the same cases a bare word-match would. It also dies if the signature is demonstrably uncorrectable: if it systematically admits non-instances (over-inclusive), or systematically denies genuine ones (under-inclusive), and no finer typing can repair it without importing domain-specific premises. A failed attempt to produce such a case is logged as a failed attempt; it is not counted as proof that the transfer relation is universal.

## Prohibited misreadings

- **Transfer is analogy.** Prohibited. The page's entire function is to separate typed instantiation from analogy; where fewer than the six criteria hold, the relation is explicitly *demoted* to analogy or partial mapping. Flag analogies as signposts, never as admissions.
- **The generator is a shared substance or doctrine.** Prohibited. The generator is a typed *relational* structure, not content possessed by a domain. Instantiation preserves relations and couplings, not a common material or a common belief.
- **"One generator" implies one privileged carrier or a hierarchy of carriers.** Prohibited. There is no ranking from richer to poorer carrier and no privileged comparison pair; admission is criterial and carrier-blind, and its meaning is not linguistic — see [[symbolic-is-not-linguistic|symbolic is not linguistic]].
- **Instantiation requires an identical capacity profile.** Prohibited. Substrate and capacity differences do not defeat type identity; conflating them is the substrate-for-function error barred by [[identity-across-substrates|identity across substrates]].
- **The six criteria are a fixed, forced count.** Prohibited. The signature is a CV carving, subject to a shorter dependency-complete alternative or a missing indispensable criterion. No count is exempt.
- **Breadth is many independent foundations.** Prohibited. Apparent breadth is reuse of one generator; treating each domain as its own foundation is the accretion reading [[hypercompression|hypercompression]] forbids.
- **Admission means the framework owns every domain it can name.** Prohibited. A domain that fails the criteria is *declined*, not annexed. The gate exists precisely to keep scope-closure from becoming totalization; the term earns its keep as an operator, not a label — see [[term-as-operator|the term as operator]].
