Term as Operator
A term functions as an operator when its defined use guides a transformation, distinction, or decision. The work belongs to the concept in use, not to an irreplaceable spelling. A plain phrase can preserve the operation; successful translation demonstrates portability rather than emptying the original term.
| Term | Work it organizes |
|---|---|
| VLS | Pursue accurate participation without treating access as possession |
| Transparentocracy | Make governance traceable and effectively correctable |
| Fregorek | Integrate self-correction with carrying value outward through Reconciliation |
| Theodicytes | Diagnose absolutization of world, self, or medium; distinguish resulting form from causes |
| SPLCW | Locate admission, constraint, inference, figuration, and externalization within a returning process |
Test the work, not the prestige of the word
Specify what changes when the concept is used correctly. Substitute another expression and see whether the relevant distinctions survive. If they do, the concept has been translated. If no operative difference can be identified at all, the claim that the term does special work needs revision. Clarity, learnability, and avoidable ambiguity are relevant criticisms of vocabulary.
Test application separately from definition: in a fresh case, identify the distinction, inference, or action the concept guides and the grounds for it. Correctly reciting its definition establishes neither that use nor the correctness of the resulting judgment; a justified decision to retain an existing course can also demonstrate its operation. This applies the distinction between reconstruction and enactment to individual terms.
E: Derived, CV. A: the account concerns how terms actually guide use. Neither a new word nor a useful distinction proves the framework's world-mapping claims. Compression benefits from memorable shorthand only when its expansion remains available and faithful.
